A little bit about me
I’m Laura—a wife, mother to two energetic children, one angel baby, and a fluffy cockerpoo. Originally from the South, I now call Lancashire home. After more than 20 years as a Registered Nurse, I’ve taken the wealth of skills gained and experience learnt from my professional and personal life and work and poured them into Laura's,MySpace4You.
Selling myself isn’t my strong suit, but I’ve often been told that I bring a big smile, a fantastic listening ear, and natural empathy to everything I do. I love a good chat, embracing my quirky side and go out of my way to make people feel comfortable in my surroundings. Everyone has a story to share, and I absolutely love hearing them!
Ever since I traveled to Australia to complete my nurse training, I’ve had a deep love of exploring the world. I’ve been lucky enough to climb to the top of Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and trek to the Base of Everest, lounge on beaches in Montenegro, visit the Mayan Pyramids in Mexico, kayak with hippos and hike glaciers in New Zealand. I even met my husband while on holiday in Egypt! Life certainly changes when you have children, but I’ve managed to keep feeding my travel bug—spending my maternity leave exploring Europe in our motorhome, with our dog, hubby and baby in tow!
My husband introduced me to mountain walking, and I’ve discovered there’s nothing quite like a good stomp up a hill to feel alive. The breathtaking views at the top make the sweat and tears worthwhile. Never did i think, my adventures would be a pivotal part of my teachings now. I’m also a foodie vegetarian with a particular love for a good cooked breakfast, and my clients have cheekily dubbed me a “feeder” thanks to my love of sharing cake during my sessions.
Photography is another passion of mine. Every photo tells a story, even the blurry ones! New mums in my baby groups especially love the candid moments I capture and share with them from our sessions.
During university, I was diagnosed as dyslexic, Alongside anxiety, these have been lifelong companions that I’ve learned to befriend and work with. They don’t define me, but instead make me uniquely me, enabling me to approach my nursing career and studio work in visual and practical ways with positive outcomes. My motto is, *"What you go through, you grow through."* Regular self-reflection and personal development have allowed me to become a supportive mental health advocate for others.
I also have a bit of an obsession with zebras—you’ll definitely spot one or two dotted around my studio! Zebras represent my ethos in terms of individuality and community.

So.... MySpace4You
My business was born in January 2023, inspired by the decision to step away from my 20+ years in NHS nursing to embrace the most rewarding role of all—becoming a mum.
This transition came from an insightful moment where I realized I could use my professional and personal experiences to support others with their health and well-being, free from the confines of a hospital. My journey as a Registered Nurse has provided me with extensive knowledge and experience across Emergency Departments, Critical Care, and palliative care. I was privileged to spend invaluable time as a Senior Nurse at St Catherine's Hospice, where I supported individuals with life-limiting conditions, offered palliative care, and provided end-of-life support. Most recently, I managed a Bereavement & Tissue Donation service in Lancashire, guiding patients and their loved ones through some of life’s most challenging moments.
Every role taught me so much, and I thrived in offering care and connection during scary and uncertain times. Yet, when my husband and I decided to have children, I was faced with my own uncertainties. I became terrified of childbirth and consumed by overwhelming anxiety—triggered, I now understand, this was caused by years of witnessing worst-case scenarios in nursing.
Searching for a way forward, I discovered hypnobirthing after Googling, "how to feel less fearful of birth." Intrigued and determined, I signed up for a full hypnobirthing course in 2017, and it transformed my experience. Hypnobirthing shifted my fear to empowerment, turning childbirth into a journey to embrace rather than fear. My husband became an active, supportive partner, and together we approached birth as a team.
This experience was so profound, I couldn’t keep the benefits of hypnobirthing to myself. "Caring is sharing," and I wanted other expectant parents to approach birth with confidence and positivity. My hope is to empower parents to understand their choices, make informed decisions, and feel prepared for the beautiful and unpredictable journey of childbirth—no matter how their baby arrives.
Research shows hypnobirthing courses significantly improve the likelihood of a positive birth experience and outcome. Fueled by this knowledge, I retrained in May 2020 during lockdown as a qualified Hypnobirthing Instructor with The Calm Birth Method.
After my second maternity leave, during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, I returned to my bereavement role and was redeployed to Intensive Care while continuing my bereavement duties. As restrictions began to ease, I started offering one-on-one bespoke hypnobirthing sessions at home.
While rewarding, I felt a deeper desire—a vision to create a beautiful, inclusive space where people could be supported pre, during, and postnatal but also a space for people to "fill their cup," find friendship, and access services to improve their mental and holistic health, to feel valued, and experience community.
Post-COVID, this need for a place to unwind was more apparent than ever—not just for myself but for many others, so I left my NHS role and Laura's,MySpace4You was born and has grown ever since offering more services to support you all.
